So I’ve decide to write this blog about one of my favorite promotions going, the WEC.

They have done an exceptional job putting on top notch events with the small roster that they have. I think under the right circumstances, they could be an even better promotion, by utilizing some of the UFC’s under-valued and relatively unknown fighters to become recognized as the second best (In my opinion best) fight organization in the world.

What I’ve done is, gone through the UFC’s current roster and taken fighters that would be better served competing in the WEC. Whether it’s for experience, a new weight class or simply a fresh start in a new promotion, I left roughly 15 plus top fighters in each division, so the UFC wouldn’t be hurting. In addition, the UFC continues to add to their roster by combing the earth for top tier talent.

I like your idea of moving some guys around, but I don't think I'd move Anthony Johnson to WEC as with the smaller cage some of his ground fighting deficiencies would become more obvious and he would appear less explosive. Also, Ryo Chonan should be at WW as that is the weight class he came to the UFC in for - fought Karo last Nov. at 170. 170 appears to be Ryo's better and more natural weight class as he was too big to cut down to 161 in Pride and he was a small 183 lb fighter there, so the 170 class seems like a natural fit for him. I'm all for free movement between the 2 organizations where they have shared weight classes.

I really like the idea of moving Frank Edgar over to the WEC. Though he is one of my favorite fighters in the ufc and in my opinion a top 5 guy in the lightweight division, he is giving up alot of sive to most every fighter he has fought in the ufc. Though he smashed Hermes Franca in his last outing, the fight against Gray Maynard really showed that a larger man with not as much skill can just grind him out. Watched clips of his college wrestling career and he was wrestling at 141lbs. A five round fight between Frank Edgar and Urijah Faber would be as frantic a pace as any fight and a dream stylistic match up for MMA fans everywhere.

Security Question: Dogs have this many legs?
