The middleweight matchup between Dean Lister and Thales Leites, initially rumored to take place on Sept. 17 at UFC Fight Night 15, will be postponed.
Lister has reportedly suffered a minor knee injury.
UFC Fight Night 15 is scheduled to take place at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Neb. The event will air live on Spike TV, leading directly into the premiere of the eighth season of "The Ultimate Fighter." Coaches will be interim UFC heavyweight champion and Pride Fighting Championships veteran -- Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira -- and number-one contender to the throne -- Frank Mir.
UFC Fight Night 15 will go on as planned with a main event lightweight tilt featuring Josh Neer and Nate Diaz.
Neer (24-6-1), a student of "Miletich Fighting Systems," has won his last three bouts. At UFC Fight Night 14 in April, he earned a unanimous decision against Din Thomas. The veteran holds notable wins over Melvin Guillard and Joe Stevenson.
Neer will have revenge on his mind in this 155-pound outing, as he was submitted by Nick Diaz, Nate's brother, at UFC 62: Liddell vs. Sobral.
Nate Diaz (9-2) is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under famed instructor Cesar Gracie. Last seen when cornering his brother Nick at EliteXC: Return of the King, the always controversial Diaz made his presence known when he started a post-fight brawl with K.J. Noons' father. This time, however, he will step back into the octagon to compete in a sanctioned bout. His last six wins have all been submissions and you can expect a similar strategy come fight time.
Diaz last competed at UFC Fight Night 14 as well, taking a pounding from Kurt Pellegrino before catching the heavy-handed lightweight in a triangle choke. Diaz, not one to be modest, put his middle fingers in the air as he secured the submission win.
Houston Alexander will also be on the card taking on Eric Schafer. Alexander desperately needs a win after losing his last two bouts against Thiago Silva and James Irvin. Schafer will make his return to the octagon in this 205-pound exhibition. After losing back-to-back fights to Michael Bisping and Stephan Bonnar, Schafer took a break from the UFC and racked up a few wins in the "Gladiators Fighting Series." Has he regained the confidence he will need to stop one of the most physically imposing specimens in the 205-pound division?
In a middleweight bout, Ed "Short Fuse" Herman and Alan "The Talent" Belcher will square off. Both fighters are coming off losses at UFC 83: Serra vs. St. Pierre II. Herman, a Team Quest wrestling standout, was submitted in the second round by newcomer Demian Maia, while Belcher was shocked by Canadian mixed martial artist Jason Day, who came out swinging for a first-round TKO win.
Joe Lauzon, undefeated in the UFC until he met Kenny Florian at UFC Fight Night 13, will also make his return to action on the stacked Spike TV card, taking on Kyle Bradley. This will be Bradley's second chance to impress Zuffa executives. After losing his UFC debut against Chris Lytle at UFC 81: Breaking Point in February, this may be Bradley's last shot at becoming a mainstay in the most recognized of mixed martial arts promotions.
Also on the card, lightweights Mac Danzig and Clay Guida go at it, while submission experts and jiu-jitsu standouts Jeremy Horn and Wilson Gouveia collide at 205 pounds.
